Download INVITATION Download ENTRY FORM Dowload TIME-TABLE SLOVENIAN UNION OF BLIND AND VISUALLY IMPAIRED ASSOCIATIONS SPORTS FEDERATION FOR THE DISABLED OF SLOVENIA – NATIONAL PARALYMPIC COMMITTEE I N V I T A T I O N To: National male goalball teams Title: 7th INTERNATIONAL GOALBALL TOURNAMENT, IZOLA, SLOVENIA 13-16 May 2010 Dear sport friends, We are honoured to invite you to the 7th International Goalball Tournament for national male teams, organised by the Slovenian Union of Blind and Visually Impaired Associations and Sports Federation for the Disabled of Slovenia – National Paralympic Committee. Location: The tournament will take place in the town of Izola, Slovenia, on the Adriatic coast. Teams invited: Up to 11 (eleven) national male goalball teams (plus the Slovenian national goalball team) can participate in the tournament; the teams will be accepted on the first come - first served basis. Date and schedule: Arrival : Thursday, 13 May 2010 Competition days: Friday and Saturday, 14 and 15 May 2010 Departure: Sunday, 16 May 2010, after breakfast Transport information: The teams can come to Izola by car (via motorway Ljubljana-Koper/Capodistria), by train to the Koper railway station or fly either to the Ljubljana International Airport in Brnik (131 km from Izola) or to the Ronchi International Airport in Trieste, Italy (61 km from Izola). The organiser will provide shuttle transportation from the point of arrival to the accommodation lodgings in Izola. Accommodation: The competitors and staff will be accommodated in the Belvedere hotel (www.belvedere.si) just outside Izola. Members of the organization team and referees will be situated in the comfortable Recreation Home “Mimi Breznik” at Ulica Sv. Petra 3 in Izola, which is run by the Slovenian Union of Blind and Visually Impaired Associations, in twin, double or triple bedrooms. Food: Food (breakfast, lunch, dinner) for all participants will be available at the place of accommodation. Competition venues: The competition will take place in Izola’s two sport halls: the ”Livada Sports Hall” and the sport hall at “Kraška 1” in Izola, both of which are about 2-3 km from the accommodations lodgings. Playground: Both competition venues have lacquered (wooden) parquet floor. Competition system: (Depends on the number of entered teams!) 12 teams participating: 1st level of competition – Preliminary rounds All teams will be divided in three groups. The first and second teams in each group will be seeded according to the results at the Paralympic Games 2008. The rest of the teams will be allocated to the groups by hand-draw. Single round robin system will be used. 2nd level of competition – Elimination Rounds The winner and the 2nd ranked team in each group plus the best two of the 3rd ranked teams from the 3 groups will play for places 1-8. The best two among the 3rd ranked teams shall be decided by best points score in the group and the number of goals scored (goals received ratio). In the case of a tie the two teams will be selected by draw. Elimination system will be used. The remaining teams will play in one group for places 9-12. Single round robin system will be used. If less than 12 teams participate, the organizer reserves the right to modify the competition system accordingly. The timetable is attached to this Invitation letter. Rules: The competition will be carried out in accordance with IBSA Goalball rules. Teams: The teams may register eight persons (the standard number is six players and two staff members) with the possibility of additional persons in the team. Any additional participants will have to pay an extra entry fee. Referees: The invitation to each team is extended to one qualified IBSA level 2 or 3 referee. Referees for the competition will not be included in the eight-member quota. The organisers will provide free accommodation, food and local transport for the referees. Entry fee: The entry fee is 1760 € for 8 persons. This includes accommodation, food (breakfast, lunch and dinner), competition costs and all local transports, from the day of arrival to the day of departure (starting with dinner on 13 May and ending with breakfast on 16 May 2010). Local transport will be provided from the Ljubljana (Brnik, Slovenia) and Trieste (Ronchi dei Legionari, Italy) airports as well as from railway stations (Ljubljana and Koper in SLO and Triest in ITA) and from bus stations to the residence and from the residence to sport hall and back. Prices: Team – 8 persons: 1760 € for the whole period (Thursday afternoon - Sunday morning) Extra person: 270 € for the whole period or 95 €/day Extra costs for single room: 15 € Additional day at the hotel: 95 €/person 500 € of the entry fee must deposited with a written application and can be paid into the following account: Name and address: Nova Ljubljanska banka d.d.
